{"id":5308,"date":"2026-07-08T12:42:45","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T10:42:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.125.iberdrola.com\/evento\/inauguramos-la-iluminacion-de-la-basilica-de-nuestra-senora-de-la-asuncion-en-cuenca\/"},"modified":"2026-07-09T10:36:49","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T08:36:49","slug":"inauguramos-la-iluminacion-de-la-basilica-de-nuestra-senora-de-la-asuncion-en-cuenca","status":"publish","type":"evento","link":"https:\/\/www.125.iberdrola.com\/en\/evento\/inauguramos-la-iluminacion-de-la-basilica-de-nuestra-senora-de-la-asuncion-en-cuenca\/","title":{"rendered":"We have unveiled the new lighting scheme for the Bas\u00edlica de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Asunci\u00f3n in Cuenca"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The <strong>Bas\u00edlica de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Asunci\u00f3<\/strong>n in Villanueva de la Jara (Cuenca) has unveiled a new decorative lighting scheme thanks to a collaboration between the Iberdrola Espa\u00f1a Foundation, Villanueva de la Jara Town Council and the Diocese of Cuenca.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">The project, with funding of 150,000 euros, has resulted in lighting that highlights the Basilica\u2019s exterior architectural and ornamental features, showcasing the historical and cultural heritage of Castilla-La Mancha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project involved a state-of-the-art LED lighting refurbishment that will reduce the Basilica\u2019s energy consumption and CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve a soft, warm light that highlights the late-Gothic architecture of the church \u2013 emphasising its significant ashlar masonry \u2013 as well as features such as the plant motifs on the Basilica\u2019s original fa\u00e7ade, the rose window, the mullion and a small sculpture of the Virgin and Child in a niche, a total of 79 light fittings have been installed throughout the exterior, with a total installed power of 4,478 W.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project helps to protect the diocesan heritage, showcase its architecture and enhance the spiritual and religious significance for which it was built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This agreement forms part of the wide-ranging programme designed for 2026 to mark the 125th anniversary of Iberdrola\u2019s founding, which ranges from art exhibitions, music festivals and technology showcases to social events.
