We are coming together to celebrate our 125th anniversary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Iberdrola is made up of all the people who are part of it. That is why we want to celebrate with the whole city of Bilbao \u2013 which is our birthplace \u2013 the history we build together every day<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day of this celebration<\/a>, attended by the Basque President, Imanol Pradales,<\/strong> a commemorative book was launched that traces Iberdrola\u2019s past, present and future prospects in what the International Energy Agency refers to as the \u2018age of electricity\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The book is divided into three main sections. The first reviews Iberdrola\u2019s history from its origins in Bilbao in 1901. The second focuses on the company\u2019s profound transformation over the last 25 years, during which, thanks to investments in grids, renewables and energy storage, and its commitment to international expansion, Iberdrola has become Europe\u2019s largest electricity company and one of the two largest in the world by market capitalisation. Finally, the third part looks ahead to the future of the electricity sector and Iberdrola\u2019s role in an era characterised by the electrification of the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later on, the whole of Bilbao will be invited to participate in this major celebration. The public will be able to enjoy live music concerts in Do\u00f1a Casilda Park, followed by a light show featuring our headquarters, Torre Iberdrola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
