We have signed an agreement with the National Archaeological Museum for the restoration of 187 Roman glass pieces

The National Archaeological Museum is restoring 187 Roman glass pieces from the Giralt Collection with the support of Fundación Iberdrola España

The National Archaeological Museum (MAN), a state museum under the Ministry of Culture, will carry out the restoration of 187 Roman glass pieces from the Giralt Collection, one of the most important collections of its kind preserved in Spain, thanks to €60,500 in funding granted by Fundación Iberdrola España

The restoration project includes structural stabilisation work, volumetric reintegration, specialised cleaning, surface consolidation and scientific analysis of materials, enabling the recovery of pieces of exceptional archaeological, historical and artistic value, many of them dating from the 1st to the 4th centuries AD.

Through this initiative, Fundación Iberdrola España reaffirms its commitment to the protection and dissemination of historical heritage, in line with its programme to support the conservation of cultural assets in museums and specialised centres across the country.

This agreement forms part of the broad and varied programme designed for 2026 to mark the 125th anniversary of Iberdrola, aimed at bringing its legacy closer to society as a whole. It includes everything from art exhibitions, music festivals and technology showcases to social events under the slogan “125 light-years”.
