Exhibition of the Zurbarán collection at the National Gallery

2 may – 23 august 2026

Ignacio Galán, Chairman of Iberdrola, alongside Queen Sofía and ScottishPower’s Chief Executive, Keith Anderson, open the Francisco de Zurbarán exhibition at the National Gallery in London

To mark Iberdrola’s 125th anniversary, the company, through its subsidiary ScottishPower, has partnered with Britain’s leading art gallery to organise the first exhibition in the United Kingdom dedicated to the work of the great Spanish painter

The exhibition, which opened on 2 May and runs until 23 August 2026 at the National Gallery, brings together nearly 50 masterpieces by the Spanish Golden Age artist, making it the largest collection ever assembled in the UK.

The exhibition features exceptional loans from international collections, including the Louvre in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Prado Museum in Madrid, alongside key works from the National Gallery. His paintings, which include impressive life-size depictions of saints, large-scale altarpieces and contemplative still lifes, are praised for their naturalism, candour and profound emotional power.

The exhibition forms part of the extensive programme of activities that Iberdrola is organising throughout 2026 to mark its 125th anniversary, reflecting its commitment to the arts and its dedication to the preservation of heritage and creativity.
